Welsh Love Ring - Silver
SJ - SR923

Sterling silver ring with Welsh inscription around the circumference and a Welsh Dragon on the inside.

Llywelyn Fawr the Great (1194-1240) was descended from Lady Godiva and fell in love with and later married Joan, the daughter of King John of England, in 1206. He was one of the most memorable Princes of Wales and the Welsh love ring epitomises the love between these two people in their struggle to ward off the invasions from England.

The script reads: Un fodrwy i ddangos ein cariad  Un fodrwy i'n clymu  -  which translates as: One ring to show our love  One ring to bind us.

Welsh Wedding Band - Silver
SJ - SR924

Sterling silver wedding band ring with Welsh Dragon engraving on inside.

The official emblem of Wales, the dragon (y ddraigg goch), although perhaps of Chinese origin, was introduced to Britain by the Romans some 1800 years ago. Initially a military standard, over time this mythical beast developed into the flag of the nation. Henry VII claimed descent fron Cadwaladar, the great Welsh king, traditionally called the last king of Britain whose dragon symbol, redolent of bravery and fierceness, had been taken up by later Welsh princes. An ideal ring for a very special day!
